Modern banking institution came into existence in Guna District in 1938 when the Imperial Bank of India opened a branch at Ashoknagar. By the end of 1944, two branches of Imperial bank of India were functioning at Guna and Ashoknagar. The Imperial Bank of India was Nationalised and named as State Bank of India in 1955. Punjab National Bank opens its branches at Guna and Ashoknagar in 1948 and 1959 respectively. The Stander started itte Bank of Is brt Guna in 1960 aagar and Mungaoli in 1961. Aanchfter a decade ites and in Ashoknghogarh, Cha openderi and Chanchin 1970, at Khumbraj and Aron inn branches at Ra 1971, at Ruthaih in 1972 and inoda and Issagaroli in 1974.

COOPERATIVE

In 1922 Essagrah cooperative bankcredit facil was established to ities to newly cl the four pargaprovide ultivatoict. The banrs ik has its branches at Guna, n alnas of the distrMungaoli and Chanchoda. In 1925 the number of agricultural cooperative societies rows to 136 of which 38 were in Essagarh Pargana, 36 in Mungaoli, 59 in Bajrangarh and 3 in Kumbhraj
